With roots in the global rug trade dating back to 1981, our family built a foundation of absolute reverence for the global wholesale rug trade. For decades, we traveled the world’s most historic weaving capitals, sourcing, appraising, and supplying museum-quality Oriental and Persian rugs to elite showrooms across Atlanta, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, and San Francisco.

Zoom Rugs was officially founded in 2016 by Gaurav "Max" Sharma to bring an uncompromising standard of care directly to the homeowners of the Bay Area. We recognized a critical flaw in the market: delicate, handcrafted works of art were being subjected to harsh steam cleaning and amateur carpet scrubbers, stripping the wool of its natural lanolin, bleeding vegetable dyes, and warping hand-tied foundations. Max established Zoom Rugs to offer a sanctuary for fine textiles—a place where the old-world methods of hand-washing and natural sun drying are preserved and elevated by modern, pH-balanced botanical chemistry.

Today, we are known across Atherton, Palo Alto, and Los Altos as the "Rug Doctors." Our dedicated cleaning specialists bring over 33 years of combined hands-on experience, while our master restoration craftsmen possess 29+ years of expertise. From reweaving torn foundations knot-by-knot, to rescuing antique silks from severe moth damage, there is almost no level of devastation our craftsmen cannot reverse.

We never outsource. Unlike ordinary cleaners, every single rug is washed, repaired, and restored in our own dedicated, 100% in-house facility. We treat the art beneath your feet with the absolute reverence it deserves, ensuring that the legacy woven into every fiber is protected for the next generation.
